The game
Toss and Tally is built for practicing cribbage, not simply playing another game against the computer. Cribbage repeatedly puts you in situations where experience matters: deciding which two cards to put in the crib, recognizing the scoring potential of a hand, and choosing how to play once the cut card is revealed.
Instead of requiring you to play complete games to practice those decisions, Toss and Tally provides focused drills. Work specifically on discarding to your crib or your opponent's, practice recognizing and counting hands, or concentrate on the situations where you want more experience. You can repeat the decisions that matter without waiting for them to appear naturally during a full game.
The guidance adapts to your experience. A newer player gets useful explanations without being buried in advanced strategy, while more experienced players can work with increasingly demanding situations and deeper analysis.
The objective isn't simply to show you the right answer. It is to help you understand why one choice is stronger than another and develop the pattern recognition to see it yourself when you're playing at the table.
